<lj:music>Al Green - Let's stay Together</lj:music>

I never update this thing anymore but felt after the last few months it would be good to. I am not going to into any major details as most of it I expect I will always remember without having a diary to remind me.

Well, I am now a married woman! Took my time getting here but after 2 attempts it really has been 3rd time lucky in the "getting engaged" stakes. I think the main thing I have learned is that relationships need to start with that "spark" but after that you need to keep fanning the flames and making sure that fire stays going - this is probably the first time I have ever really taken that advice on board and really worked at a relationship the way that I have worked (and continue to work) at my relationship with Dan. I think that is what makes this time around so special.

So anyway, I am now Mrs Luton, sad to see my old surname go as, let's face it, is is SO much better than my new one, but that is part of the sacrifice of getting married to Dan - taking on his name, and be grateful dammit as it could have been a hell of a lot worse... or so he tells me!

I have been back from honeymoon just over 24 hours and now reality has set in that I need to go back to work tomorrow and get back to normal. These past 2 or 3 weeks have been the best of my life and is a time I will never forget. Our Wedding Day was perfect - sunny but not too hot and surrounded by so many of our family and friends. The speeches were amazing, especially my Dad's which went straight through all my layers to the heart and made me sob like a baby, sometimes I forget just how well he knows me as he started his speech saying I should learn when to let Dan have the last word - he then proceeded to hand me a sock, a zip and a button to remind me! One of my best friends, Andy Mothersele also did a speech with a limerick that he and Kevin had written - he did really well and made everyone laugh!!

Dan looked so handsome in his suit and although I tried not to cry during the ceremony I think I did a little bit. Mum did a reading for us and she at one point looked like she might cry but she held it all together and read that poem so perfectly. THe party afterwards was brilliant, and our first dance was "Al Green - Let's stay together", we also had "Daniel Bedingfiled - If you're not the one" as our second dance and the final one before the disco started was "Lionel Richie - Truly".

My dress was lovely although the strap broke and Dan's sister had to sew it back on for me!! I was only trying to go to the loo and strained the dress a bit too much! After that one of my other bridesmaids, Jess, was on hand to make sure I could go to the loo ok - my friend Cole said I should go on frontways and actually that was a lot easier!

My sister Anna-Lisa was of course my Chief Bridesmaid and did a fantastic job following me around holding my train as well as more importantly being my biggest emotional support on the day. She continues to be the best sister anyone could ask for, and I consider myself lucky that she is my little sister.

It was a wonderful day and a really relaxing honeymoon with my new husband - it's a time I will miss and remember with complete happiness I think every day of my life.

Now we have a house move on the agenda for this year, next year we are holidaying with some of my best friends, Andy and April, Chris and Vicki and Mike and after that, well that world is one big oyster isn't it?

I think until the next big event in my life this diary really isn't going to see the light of day so I won't give the impression that I will update it regularly as I know I never will, and I reckon this is a nice ending to something that has kept track of my life for the last 4 years.

It's been emotional....

MX

As I have not updated this for ages, thought it was about time.

2 days ago was the day of the bombings in London and I found out mum should by rights have been at Liverpool St Station not 15 minutes after the bomb went off. She was very lucky as her broker cancelled the day before. Scarily enough though found out an old friend was actually helping out with the aftermath, which shocked me quite a bit, but at least he is ok. I can't imagine what it must be like for all those people still waiting for news on their friends and families.

I don't know what I would do if anything happened to Dan!!

And on that note:

Wedding arrangements near enough all completed - it is now next month so we are both counting down the days. Invites are all out and mum is currently sorting out numbers as we have a meeting this week with the venue to decide the final menu and pay for most of the catering costs.

My dress is ordered, and in, and I have my first fitting in a couple of weeks. Bridesmaid dresses are down and my and my 3 bridesmaids (my sister, Dan's sister and my best friend Jess) have already had our hair and make-up rehearsals!

Wedding rings are almost done - Dan's is lovely, platinum with 3 princess cut diamonds across the top to match my engagement ring - but mine has been sent back just to round off the edges a little as it is flat edged at the moment. Mine has 2 princess cut diamonds either side of a cut out area which fits round my engagement ring. We designed the rings and had them made so they matched as closely as they could!

Not only that but then we are off to Mauritius all inclusive for two weeks which we are so excited about!!

Coming back to now, tomorrow I am off to see Will Young in concert at Leeds Castle which was part of my birthday present from Dan, but he didn't want to go with me, so I am going with my mum.

Today the weather looks crap so I am planning on going for a swim and ordering some bits and bobs for my hen weekend which is now only 2 weeks away - the theme is Angels and Devils (well what else could it be!!)

BLACKPOOL HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MX

Can;t remember if I updated this at the time but my dress. bridesmaids dresses and now Dan and men's outfits now sorted! COlours are red and silver so the gents are wearing long black jackets, pinstripe grey trousers, silver waistcoats and bright red ruffle ties. Dan tried his on today and he looked so handsome, I could have married him there and then :o)

Sorted the bombonierre on Thursday as well so the only things left to do are to do with choosing menus and getting the invitations out. They're ordered but need to wait for them to come back from the printers. Also need to get our final cake design sorted this week, one of our friends mums is going to make it for us!

It's all taking shape, and we are both really excited :o)

Anyway best be off as we are going out tonight in Rochester.

MX x

I've got a new car :o) It is a Citroen C3, I just picked her up - she is blue so I called her "Chelsea" - and it has nothing to do with a certain Mr Lampard.... mmmmmmmm!

It also has 5 (count em) cupholders apparently... I can't ever imagine I would get that thirsty?!?

Anyway she's BOOOTIFUL and my first car since my first car Rose! So it's all good.

Do I miss our MG, Nemo? Nope. Although it was nice zooming up Detling Hill past all the ..er... Citroen's and stuff.... er... hmm.. maybe miss a little!

Also - Barry the guy who sold us Nemo and Chelsea and Dan's car who has no name (poor thing) looks like a young Joey McIntyre which was very strange.

Anyway I should be tidying up and stuff as Dan is at football at the moment (YES NO MORE FOOTBALLS ROLLING AROUND IN THE BACK OF THE CAR NOW HE HAS HIS OWN!!!!!) so I best be getting off.

MX

Very proud - Dan went for an interview last week and today accepted! Means we have to sell our lovely MG but instead we've bought a Saxo and a C3 from the same dealership. Mine (the C3) is a diesel so we will hopefully save money as even though Dan has got a nice pay rise a lot of it will be taken up with the fact we now have two cars.

Dan will still be working for NIG but as a "Senior On-site Underwriter" with one of our largest brokers.

He starts in a couple of weeks which will be strange not working with him but it does mean I get a bit of "me" time, and he gets to listen to what he wants in the car :o) So it's all good!

Anyway that was all i had to say today :o)

Oh My god, experiencing worst hangover of entire life and sure must still be drunk.....

Last night went round for dinner at Tony's house, Tony being a manager at work that is good friend of Dan and I.

About 10 of us there, curry, alchohol - and strip pontoon, although I did quite well in that by the end of it, was wearing top, no socks, no jeans, but managed to keep knickers on although did have to flash boobs along with the other girls when we lost the girls v boys shooting down the cans thing, which consisted of a log with cans on and a gun with a laser which had to hit these little sensers in the log (a plastic one) below the cans for the cans to fall off. The boys lost "Operation" (Have you ever tried playing that when you are drunk? Total nightmare....) and so had to take trousers and pants down. and "moon" at girls. Annoyed by fact all I could do was stare lovingly at Dan's bum when manager was standing with trousers round ankles.

Got home about 4am. Don't know why I am awake apart from to dose up on paracetamol. Dan in bed still.

Went downstairs and everthing we were wearing last night is all over dining room floor although brief check with Dan suggests neither of us can remember anything from the point where we unlocked the front door.

Was good night.
What a week

THought I would update this for a change as I have had my first hospital experience! I have not been well for a few weeks and after much persuasion from Dan which I didn't take any notice of (sorry baby) Mum finally convinced me to go to A&E. So on Monday at about 9pm Dan took me to the William Harvey in Ashford and I was admitted that night and went down to theatre on the Tuesday afternoon. It is SUCH a weird experience as I was obviously under general anaesthetic, and its like one minute they are telling you to try to keep your eyes open and the next minute, I woke up and the nurse was telling me it was all over! I was discharged on Thursday but had to go back to A&E Thursday night due to a bit of a complication and Dan and I didn't get home until 3am! Dan has been absolutely fantastic and has really looked after me, and I am very very lucky to have him.

I am signed off work now probably until after the new year which will be strange, and I am worried about being bored so will have to think of some worthwhile things to do whilst I am off. Any suggestions.....!?

Anyway aside from that, keeping on with the wedding planning, most things sorted now, still havent got my dress but planning on doing that in January with Anna-Lisa. Dan knows what he is going to be wearing and my dad is just relieved that he doesn't have to wear a top hat! My colour scheme is Red and Silver, and the overall theme is Roses.... so my bouquet will be roses, with roses on the cake, and roses on the favours etc. Hopefully it will look really elegant - that's the plan anyway! We also have a string quartet which I am really excited about, and 2 photographers and a videographer during the day - cos I don't want to miss a thing about the day! We've ordered our wedding rings, having them made especially as mine needs to be cut in to fit my engagement ring, so mine will have 2 princess cut (square) diamonds either side of my engagement ring (which is a princess cut diamond as well), and Dan's will have 3 princess cut diamonds across the top of his, so they match. We've given notice of marriage and picked our vows and just need now to decide on readings. I am v excited - especially as we now only have about 8 months to go which I know will go so quickly.

Finally got all solicitors out of our lives as Dan is now divorced and the house is now in both of our names, so it's been expensive, but well worth it as at one point we seemed to be juggling all sorts of plates, and probably took on too much in all honesty which put unecessary strain on us.

so that's the big update for now, I will try to keep this more up to date in future :o)

MX

    <lj:music>avril lavigne - my happy ending</lj:music>

Dan is away again this weekend - stag do (not his!) in Bournemouth - apparently he started drinking at 10am this morning - someone is going to have a sore head tomorrow :o) Dan's back on Sunday, I am picking him up from Herts to save him trying to deal with Sunday service on the trains - also I know he will want to watch the Euro 2004 final. I was up at 5:30 this morning to take him to Herts and be back in time for work, otherwise I would have had to spend an extra night apart from him which I didn't want. Luckily we had a fairly early night last night ;o)

I am only going to be a sad billy no mates for tonight though as I am meeting up with some friends tomorrow in Maidstone which I am really looking forward to as I haven't seen them for ages. For tonight though I am all on my own again though so I might update the wedding pages on my web-site. I still enjoy sitting up on my PC until ridiculously late/early hours, but as it is not a hobby Dan shares I don't get much chance to "geek" anymore, so I am looking forward to tonight for some quality time with AzRael (my ikkle computer!)

Dan and I have finally decided on a honeymoon destination - Mauritius - the hotel is called "La Pirogue" and it is costing us a fair bit (we are going all-inclusive so we can get some serious drinking done!!) but it is a lovely hotel and the one we picked out of them all so for the last few weeks we have just been getting the best price on it :o) We are both really excited! This will hopefully be the holiday of a lifetime to knock Corfu and the States off the top of my "Best Holidays Ever" list :o) Well perhaps not the States - that was just TOO cool............

We have a few appointments coming up - the first being a mortgage appointment as I want some advice on my mortgage and also I need to get everything transferred into Dan's name and finally cut the last financial ties with Stef. We also have appointments with wedding photographers for next year, we have shortlisted about 3 and are seeing them over the next few weeks.

Work going ok, lots on, bit of a concern with one of my team at the moment but nothing I can't handle once I have figured out the best way to do so. Lots of stretching targets so I am very busy, but I find it better that way - keeps my mind occupied.

Saw my sister last weekend, she came up on Sunday for a meal and to do some make-up on me as she is going to be doing my make-up on my wedding day - to be honest, she is brilliant at it and I don't think I could trust anyone else to have my best interests at heart. My sister looks after me :o) She had lots of ideas which was fantastic so we looked through wedding magazines while Dan did the dinner and fetched us drinks (he is a star!)

Right best be off - between the last paragraph and this one, Dan has rung me (about the 4th time he has rung today!) and said he is off out for a meal and then to a bar/clubby type place, so he seems happy enough, and sounded remarkably sober!!

Laters :o)

MX

    <lj:music>Lonestar - Amazed (Captain Mix)</lj:music>

Dan is away at the moment on a long Golf Weekend in Devon so Stef was down yesterday and today doing the kitchen with me assisting! We worked about 11 hours yesterday I think and 12 today and I am absolutely shattered. Stef left at about 9:30 this evening and I decided whilst I still had a shred of energy left I would clean the kitchen so that I didn't have to face it tomorrow morning - and means I can have a lie-in!

So I have moved the cupboards around and put everything that I had to take out, back into the kitchen. It's not quite finished but it really does look amazing, Stef has done a brilliant job and overall I think we worked well as a team, although there were a few times we were a little snappy, but understandably so I feel given the length of time we were working!

Anyway tomorrow I plan to tidy the front room as the carpet is a mess from us and the cats traipsing in and out of the kitchen, I also want to do a general "replace all the lightbulbs session" as they all seem to have gone together, and I would like to get out in the garden to do some general tidying if the weather allows - and if I actually have the physical strength after the last two days!

I am missing Dan a lot and can't wait until he gets back on Monday, I really do hate it when he isn't here - it just doesn't feel like home anymore :o( He does keep in touch when he can though although obviously can't keep his phone on him during the day.

I am ashamed to say also that despite my best efforts to remain as uninterested as possible, I am fairly excited about the England v France Match tomorrow and I probably will take a little peek seeing as it is on Terrestrial TV. I am glad it is on normal TV as I was even contemplating going to a pub to watch it - and those who know me know I NEVER go to pubs alone, but I thought the atmosphere would be such that it wouldn't matter if I was by myself, so I think I probably would have wandered down the road to the local to watch it. As it goes I intend to wear my England T-Shirt and drink lager and generally be very rowdy and try to re-create what it would have been like if Dan had been home :o) I am sure it would make him proud if he knew!

I am very tired although still not "wound down" enough to sleep so I intend to watch a bit of telly and then go to bed around midnight, which is late for me but then I can have a nice lie-in tomorrow!!

My back hurts :o(

Time for telly and a nice glass of Baileys awaits methinks!

MX

PS BTW this song could be the chosen wedding "first dance" song as Dan and I both like the words - but the newer version not the old one :o)

    <lj:music>Nsync - This I promise you</lj:music>

I have just sat down to update my diary and burn another CD to listen to whilst doing the rest of hte housework, and noticed the beautiful sunny day has kinda disappeared!! My washing is on the line so I will need to keep an eye out!

Had a busy day so far, completely spring cleaned the kitchen, Dan mowed the lawn and this afternoon he intends to tidy out our shed and get rid of the cob-webs and bits of plant growing through the ceiling so I am not terrified to go in there anymore!! However at about 2:45 I sent him to the pub to watch football :o) He will probably be back soon actually :o)

Found out that Dan is taking me to see Phantom of the Opera on my birthday - I am so excited - I have always wanted to see it!! He also tried to book us into the Ivy restaurant but they are all booked up which he seems disappointed about, but I had never heard of it so I don't know any different!

Last weekend Dan and I went to Brighton with his brother and sister, had a fantastic time and the weather was gorgeous! I got 115 at bowling one night which I think is my highest score ever!! Unfortunately I still finished behind Dan and Jim... but I was pleased anyway!

Been a good week, completely up to date at work, went to a Quiz with work in the Litten Tree near Old Street tube station on Wednesday - it's an annual event and held there as it is just across from NIG's head office! We came 5th out of about 60 teams so we were dead chuffed! Our team name was "Maidstone's Spunky Biscuits" and consisted of me, Dan, Tony C, John H, Sue, Jolene, Gareth and Dave. Was a very good evening all in all! Oh and also last week my team - the "West Kent Team" reached our monthly target so I got the cakes in for everyone. I now have 9 people who report into me and they are all fantastic - there is a really good team spirit and I think we are easily the best team in the region!!

Last night Dan and I went for a curry and a pub crawl back along the high street back to our house. Tonight we might go to a club but depends how tired we are after finishing our housey tasks for the day! It's quite nice as this is the only weekend we have had together for a while - next weekend Dan is away on a golf weekend and a couple of weekends after that he is on a stag weekend so I have a couple of lonely ones coming up :o(

Wedding hasn't really made any significant progress although we now think we would like to go on honeymoon to either the Seychelles or Mauritius. Hopefully we can book that up soon. We are also still stuck on what invitations to get. And we are having trouble getting the photographer to return our calls!

Oh the other thing that happened was Alfie was in a near miss with a car and the man who nearly ran him over took him to the vet. That cat is a liability........

ANYWAY I should go as Dan will be home any minute and I should try and at least look busy :o))

Laters
MX

    <lj:music>Bon Jovi - Blaze of Glory</lj:music>

My main topic of conversation these days but I am so excited :o) If you don't want to read about it, then don't read past this sentence!

Dan and I have now booked the ceremony, reception venue and DJ for the night, and now just looking into a photographer which we should do this week. We are also going to try and book up the honeymoon very soon as the prices for next year come out in the next few weeks. We have a couple of ideas as to where we want to go and the best bit is we are going to book it in my married name as I am going to get my passport changed before we actually get married (which apparently you can do!)

Seen some invitiations that we love, the only problem is because of the bit on the front which says "Today I marry my friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love" it means the invitation itself would need to come from Dan and I, and one of the things mum did say was that she wanted the invitiations to come from her and dad... so I am really torn and not sure what to do, and obviously with the situation as it is with mum if I rang her she would only accuse me of ringing her when I want something. So I am going to make the decision with Dan, but not sure which way it will go yet.

I have also updated my web-site today and replaced the "gallery" (which was a link to Stef's old site) with "Wedding" and I will keep the pages there updated with the wedding plans. It took me ages going through every page altering it, so the "bones" are there but no real content as yet, and now I am hungry so I am going to eat rather than go back to it!

I rang Dad yesterday as while all this is going on, we also have the situation with the house going on. Dad thinks I have taken on too much, but this just goes to show how little they know of what is going on. Dan and I are coping very well with everything we have got on the go and I wouldn't say we have got too much on at all. He also said I had been a bitch to mum which I disagreed with, I haven't even spoken to mum so how could I have been?

All very frustrating, but the bottom line is, if mum wants to talk, she knows where I am. I have felt so upset by her lack of interest (and the best bit was when I told her I was getting married, she had a go at me) that in some ways it is almost quite nice that Dan and I are planning this on our own without her putting a dampner on things.

Yesterday as well Dan and I rang round some of his family and spoke to some of my friends to ask if they would stay over at the hotel on the night of the wedding! So far everyone we have asked, wants to stay so that is really excellent! I spoke to Jess (one of my bridesmaids) yesterday and she and I are going to get together at some point in the next few months to bounce some ideas around, which is nice as I haven't had that yet. Once we've done that I think I will contact the florist as hopefully I will have some better ideas about flower colours etc, it's not so easy deciding on these sorts of things on my own.

So it is all go, and I can't wait until the big day :o)

And now I must eat.......

MX

Dan and I visited some wedding venues today and.....

WE HAVE BOOKED OUR WEDDING!!

The date is Friday 26th August 2005 at Little Silver Hotel in Tenterden. We decided to go for a civil wedding in the end, and this place has a gazebo and amazing grounds and all of the wedding party can stay over in the hotel and we will all have breakfast together! The manager there, Oliver, was just wonderful and really painted the picture for us - and we were both taken with the place so as soon as we got back, Dan rang them, booked it, and paid the deposit, so it's all official! We will get married outside and then have the wedding breakfast in the "Kent Hall" which is an Octaganol building, then they will clear everything away for the evening guests - the place is basically ours completely and they light all the garden up and everything for the evening! I am so excited about it all!

We also saw Eastwell Manor, but as beautiful as it was, the rooms were very small and it was very expensive - but we took some photos and had a nice guided tour, and both just agreed that it wasn't what we were looking for.

Told the parents - and the countdown starts at 15 months! We are both really excited and can't wait! For more details - visit our wedding webpages

*bounce*

I am very happy.

Also, the other amazing news is we went for a bike ride last night and found some lovely country lanes round Sittingbourne. Didn't ride any great distance (6 miles) but after 2 pub stops and some sore bums, decided it was time to go home!

Centerparcs in 3 days (yayy!!)

Anyway, that's all the news for now :) :)

MX
(aka The future Mrs Luton!)

I just went out for a steak dinner with Stef! Was really nice to catch up and for the first time I had no pangs of regret or the silly need to sit there and bawl my eyes out - must have been nice for him too :o)

He has his life pretty much sorted now which I am really pleased about :o) Yep really enjoyed myself and now I am too "Up" to sleep. I feel very contented.

Plus Dan may be ringing me later but not sure - tonight is his last night on the course and they may have all gone out as far as I know although I think they were still eating in the hotel in which they have been captive for 3 weeks over the last 2 months!

VERY COOL - going on holiday with my sister for a week which I am really looking forward to - although not until September!

Also going to Centerparcs with Dan which I am looking forward to as our apartment is near the lake but fairly secluded..... with lots of surrounding forest..... which is excellent ;oP as we love the "great Outdoors" *giggle* ;o)

OOOH started Atkins this week and have lost 8 and a half pounds so far.... I would like not to be a blubber bottom when I get married so I figured now was the time to start :o) Plus, living on a diet of Meat is quite satisfying!!

Anyway best get to sleep as haven't slept much since Dan has been away - specially the night when JAMES bloody TEXTED me at GONE ELEVEN and woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep!! 1 and a half hours sleep I got that night Mr Hall - so where is my apology?? Hmm??????? <lj:music>Faith Hill - This kiss</lj:music>

Had a lovely weekend, we decided at the last minute not to go to Eastwell Manor for a meal as we were planning, but decided to go to Bath instead, and then changed our minds and went instead to stay in Stratford upon Avon! Stayed in a really nice hotel, went out to Cafe Uno for a meal Saturday night, and then went out for a drink and a bit of a dance to Chicago Rock - all of which was about 6 mins away from the hotel which was fantastic!

Then Sunday we went to Warwick Castle, the BEST castle I have ever been to, weather was a bit dodgy but we had an amazing time and took lots of silly photos of eachother and I had an embarrasing moment (a very amusing one admittedly in hindsight!) which I won't go into, but Dan has got immense pleasure in telling everyone and I am sure the man involved will be telling all his colleagues about it :o) Intrigued?!?! I think you had to be there :o)

This weekend have got Jim and Jo coming down and we have managed to rope Jim into doing some DIY and gardening as he has a natural talent where unfortunately his big brother does not..... so I am immensley grateful to him!

Work is getting harder and harder at the moment, one of my team is off long-term sick at the mo, and we have a lot of heavy new business targets to reach, and so our objectives as Team Leaders are difficult this year. Still, I always did love a challenge!

What else is happening.... oh I rang James last night - haven't spoken to him in ages and Dan is off on a golfing weekend first weekend in June so I am going back to Bristol for a weekend of drunken debauchery and vomiting in the street :o) I am just kidding of course, though it will be good to catch up and maybe see some old faces :o)

What else? That's about it really! Tomorrow I have an evening on my own as Dan is out at a "boardroom lunch" (very posh) which basically involves some important people, our regional and ops manager, Dan and his Field guy and some of his brokers getting exceptionally drunk and leching over the waitresses!! Dan says he won't come back shit-faced but we shall see :o)))

Meanwhile, I will be in the office - working....

Anyway I had best go - hope everyone is ok - oh and thank you to tazzy for saying something on Dan's livejournal, it really cheered him up and I thought it was really sweet *hugs*

I really am going now as there is a glass of wine with my name on it downstairs!!

MX

PS I love this song - reminds me of the BELLAGIO in Vegas - I wonder what happened to the amazing video I made of the fountains.......??

I have been on a course in London for 2 days - "Recruiting the RIght people", decided not to stay overnight although I had the chance to as I can't bear to spend a night away from Dan unless I really have to. There's something unnatural about not having my morning and night cuddles and I just don't like being apart from him.

One of the blokes on the course asked me how Brussels was and then said he was on the course with Dan earlier this month and had to look at my finger to see if he recognised my engagement ring (to know if I was Dan's other half), as Dan carried it with him on the course so it was safe! Then he told me Dan had sent an Email to everyone on the course saying I had accepted his proposal :o)

Dan and I have been up to a fair bit, looking into wedding plans etc... went to see the Vicar on Sunday and Tuesday but it has raised more questions due to Dan having been married before.........really the most important thing to me is us getting married so I am prepared to compromise. Mum and Dad have offered to pay towards some of it which is fantastic and I am very grateful :o)

What else - oh the cats have been "done"... Amber is a bit groggy tonight but Alfie obviously hasn't noticed the lack of testicles as yet... they both seem ok which is good!!

This weekend we have the first free weekend in ages, we always seem to be up to something and the last few weekends have been taken up visiting our parents following our engagement (which all went very well).. then next weekend we are inviting Dan's brother and sister over for a games evening, and then after that, who knows!!

Anyway it was just a quickie really, as Dan is downstairs and I haven;t really seen him for two days so I am going to go and spend some time with him before we go sleepy-byes....

Nighty Night all :o)

MX

Well he did it a few hours ago now and we have just had champagne and mini-eggs to celebrate. Third time lucky? Unbeknown to me Dan went to Hatton Garden on the way up to Derby and the ring was the centre of attention on the course he was on as he didn't want to leave it anywhere :o) I might have to have the ring re-sized but I will wear it for a few days and see. It is very beautiful, a square diamond in platinum which Dan tells me is just over half a carat.

He was going to propose this weekend in Brussels but felt the moment was right at home, in the front room on the sofa :o) I wasn't quite sure what he was up to and you would think I would be used to the whole proposal thing by now but I was still useless and he had to ask me twice before I realised exactly what was happening.

Anyway I said yes and now we are officially engaged and this time I am getting married. Come hell or high water, I will be Mrs Luton next year - so help me God!!

Seriously though, I love Dan and this is it :o)

Had some sad news as well today which I won't go into in case it is not public knowledge. <lj:music>Black - Wonderful Life</lj:music>

It is a very weird feeling being in the house on my own! I mean, it shouldn't - it is my house and I have lived here over a year so I should be used to it, but I'm not!!

Dan is away in Derby until Thursday - he left work this morning and I miss him already :o( We went out last night to play darts which was excellent - I won 3-2 :o) My theory that I play better after a drink is definitely correct!

This weekend, I lost two very small things and against all odds found them again. The first was the ball off my belly button bar - I had taken it out when I went swimming and not put in in properly - and I found the ball on the carpet next to the TV - and then later on Dan and I were having a cuddle (bless) and the lens popped out of my glasses - and I found the screw which was tiny! What are the odds of that?

Later on tonight I have to venture down to Blockbuster and take back the DVD we got out on Saturday. I don't really want to take the car as it is parked outside and the chances of getting a space in my road later on are very slim!

Very excited as got an Email from an old colleague who I used to work with in Bristol at AXA - Matthew Steel! I was meant to be on a course on Wednesday and Thursday in Bromley but I had an extremely severe cold so couldn't go - it turns out Matt was there and expected that I would be! It was nice to hear from him - he is now a Team Leader as well!

Not much has really happened on the wedding front - Dan and I are not officially engaged yet because he still wants it to be a surprise - I am not sure when he plans on asking me, but we have agreed that until we get engaged the wedding plans are on hold! We are also getting a bit worried about the house situation and Stefano is becoming near on impossible to get hold of these days. I can't remember the last time he actually answered one of my calls.

Anyway I am going to ring Daniel to calm myself down as just thinking about the house situation has made me really irritated.

MX

I have got a really bad cold which has not only forced me to leave work early leaving poor Dan to get the bus home, but has meant I have had to miss out on a curry night with two of our friends, Jess and Billy... so not impressed :o( Feeling MOST sorry for myself!

Still the exciting news is that Dan and I have officially told our close families (siblings first followed by both sets of parents!) that we are getting married. And it went surprisingly well on both sides :o) My mum and Dad I think had a bet on what I was travelling to FOlkestone last night to tell them. When I said I was getting married, Dad told Mum she owed him a tenner.... :o) Dan was in a pub in FOlkestone waiting for me as I wanted to tell my parents on my own

Still this is third time lucky for me!

We are not engaged as Dan has not proposed yet and he still wants to make it a surprise although really I am likely to know when he goes to get it as we work and live together so it is not like he can sneak off and not tell me!!

ANYWAY aside fro that, weekend went well, Dan's cousin Sally was over from Italy where she now resides, to show off her baby - William, who is huge the biggest 5 month old baby I have ever seen, and the most English, given that his daddy is Italian! It was a fantastic weekend as we went to see a band called Melonfinger, the lead singer of which Jo used to live with. Very cool. Sunday we were all fairly worse for wear and Dan and I went to Lakeside :o)

THis has taken me ages to write as my eyes are streaming so I am going to go and read in bed until my baby gets home from work.

Bye Ze Bye Loads!
Miss-X

Well, today was the last day at NIG Maidstone for Rachel, who I have worked with for the last 3 years. It is very sad and I will miss her a lot :o(

Dan and I went out after work for Rachel's leaving do but I decided to drive as we are trying to save money so we can get married. Dan spent a long time talking to Tony Collman about how he was looking forward to getting married to me which I was chuffed about. I love him so much :o) (I know, pass the bucket)

This weekend we are going to Dan's parents tomorrow to meet Dan's Uncle and Aunt, Eddie and someone, can't remember, and Sally their daughter (Dan's cousin) and Sally's baby. I am nervous but Dan's mum rang and invited us both and then Dan's sister rang to say it would be an ideal time for me to meet some more of the family. I'm a bit nervous as is Dan as this will be the first time he has seen these people since his wedding although they seem to be ok with it as we got a Christmas card to both of us from them.

We are having dinner at Dan's parents, then me, Dan and his brother and sister plus a few others are going to see a live band, staying over at Jo's and then coming back sometime Sunday after effects of alcohol have worn off!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I am going to eat Curry and watch Eastenders as Dan has just returned with a "Curry Queen" special :o)

I will go on a diet... but not yet :o))

Laters
Miss-X
